Book Carving Project
I came up with my idea for the book carving project by choosing the them scientific rhen I chose to incorporate a space type of scene into it. It was very inportant to come up with a clear plan because if you didnt you couldnt start because you have to know how you are going to do your layers and make it look as good as possible. I faced challenges in this project from the beginning. I was cutting my border and I was rushing and I cut through about 20 pages. That was the only major drawback I had during the project. I overcame this by cutting out all of the pages and just starting new. I didnt really relate the book to my theme but I chose to do a space theme and show a good, and creative design that looks appealing. I took some risks by doing very curved lines and doing a somewhat difficult design. I feel that the overall project I created was succesfull because I tried to challenge my self. Thats why this was a succesful project.

Mixed Media Project
I showed amusement by doing things involving soccer which I find amusing. And I showed variety by using photo transfers, magazig cutouts, tisue paper, and paint. I chose all soccer things and made it unified by putting things on to of other things. I have never really used mixed media before so I was not very experienced with it. Visual journaling helped my place my tisue paper and do photo transfering. Some challenges I had where trying to make it look unified and flow. I overcame that by placing things on top of others and used other medias to help me.

Non-traditional portraits
I chose to choose a picture of my dog because I love her. When I was brainstorming I didnt really think anout tic tacs until a few days before we started. The material I chose made it look textural amd that is important because it makes it look alot better. I took risk by making it really big with how small the tic tacs were. I faced challenges by tic tacs not fitting and having to put them on top of other ones. It impacted the look of it tao make it more detailed and the feel of it because tic tacs are round. Yes because Bailey loves tic tacs.

Sticky Situation
I was able to think outside of the box by hiding the situation in the rear view mirror. This personally I thought was thinking outside the box. I incorporated pattern and rythem with the lines in the middle of the road and the grass. I developed my ideas by thinking of the inside of the car and by doing something in the rear view mirror. I chose acrylic paint for my media and I thought it was succesful. There were somewhat succesful in how my final project turned out.

Up Close and Personal
I developed my ideas by thinking of animals up close and personal. I demonstrated emphasis by making the fish look as real as possible. I chose colored pencils as my medium because i thought it made the fish look alot more realistic. I did take some risks with this project because ive never used prismacolor colored pencils before. I think my art used technique to make it look the way it does.

What's the Point
Some of the solutions to what's the point were doing something to do with a point on a map or something to do with a fish hook. I chose the fish hook because i thought it would look good with stippling and crosshatching. I chose a light source coming from the top left so the went from lighter to darker with stippling. I chose pen over ink wash and pencil. I chose it because I thought it looked better and it was easier to show lighter and darker. The techniques I used to create this work is stippling and crosshatching. I took risks stippling in this project because when we were doing out practice I wasn't very good at it. So that was the only risk I took. The message I am trying to convey is What's the Point. The way i conveyed that is by drawing sharp objects.
